Code Enforcement Officer - Fox Chapel Borough, Allegheny County PA

The Borough of Fox Chapel is seeking a full-time Code Enforcement Officer to perform various work requiring the review, approval, and issuance of multiple permits in compliance with all building codes and related zoning regulations, ordinances, and land uses. Must be able to exercise independent judgment, work on various projects simultaneously, and adapt to a changing work environment while providing excellent customer service and technical assistance.

·       Four-year college degree with some work in government administration and/or a degree in engineering, architecture, or building construction and/or a minimum of five years' experience in municipal code enforcement or equivalent combination of training and education.

·       A minimum of 5-years' experience in building construction, design, supervision, or inspection

·       Certification by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry as Residential Building Inspector.

·       Certification by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry as a Building Code Official to serve as a Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code Administrator within one (1) year of appointment

·       Required to participate in continuing education sufficient to maintain required certifications, knowledge, and skills

·       A valid PA Driver's License

Work is performed indoors and outdoors, varying from hot, wet, and humid conditions to below-zero temperatures. A moderate amount of standing, walking, climbing and driving is also required. Salary commensurate with experience and includes an excellent benefits package.
